With a total of some 45,000 titles and around 120 current journals, the ILS library is one of Germany’s largest specialist libraries for spatial planning.

Areas of specialisation:
Key literature on spatial development and planning, metropolisation, regionalisation, mobility behaviour, social-space dynamics and social integration, building stock and settlement structures. Other specialisations reflect the ILS’s current research programme.

Opening hours

The library of the Research Institute for Regional and Urban Development gGmbH (ILS) serves the information and scientific activities of the ILS employees. The library is available to employees 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. External visitors can use the library as a chained library after consultation. Please contact our librarian in advance by e-mail or telephone.

Monday to Thursday: 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Friday: 9 am to 12:30 pm
