Work and Family
The family-conscious human resources policy at ILS responds to constantly changing societal requirements by firmly embedding the reconciliation of family life, caregiving, and professional work within our institutional culture. Our aim is to create an environment for research and working that recognizes and supports the individual life phases of our employees.
Our commitment includes:
- Flexible working time models to better balance work and family life
- Teleworking in cases of care needs or unforeseen family circumstances
- Home office and mobile working arrangements
- Sabbaticals for extended breaks during special life situations
As early as May 2011, we joined the corporate network “Erfolgsfaktor Familie”. This initiative promotes a family-friendly working environment and provides practical information as well as best-practice examples.
Since autumn 2022, we do also participate in the federal state programme “Reconciling Work and Care in North Rhine-Westphalia” and are a signatory to the Charter on Work-Care Reconciliation. Through this, we assume responsibility for demographic change and the needs of employees with caregiving responsibilities.
Until the end of 2025, we used the “audit berufundfamilie” as an instrument to implement concrete measures. The initial certification in May 2010 and the regular re-audits document the continuous expansion of our family-conscious human resources policy.
