Analysis tools to support and monitor company-related mobility management
| Client: | IHK Network Offices Company-related Mobility NRW BEMO |
| Time frame: | 09/2024 – 05/2025 |
The project commissioned by the IHK Network Office for Corporate Mobility NRW (BEMO) aims to support companies in systematically assessing and analysing their corporate mobility and, on this basis, making it more sustainable. The focus is particularly on commuting and business travel, the associated distances travelled, modes of transport used, and CO2 footprints, as well as on the question of how organisational conditions can be improved in order to strengthen more environmentally friendly mobility options in employees’ day-to-day working lives.
To this end, the project further develops a standardised survey design developed at ILS and grounded in scientific research, and makes it usable for BEMO’s advisory work with companies. The objective is to make company mobility profiles visible through the evaluation of the surveys, identify specific company-related needs for action, and, on this basis, derive initial measures for sustainable corporate mobility management.
In addition, a company database will be established on the basis of the surveys, in which the collected mobility-related data will be consolidated and made continuously available for use in both research and practice. In this way, a foundation will be created for providing companies with more informed advice on the sustainable design of their corporate mobility, while also enabling better observation of cross-company developments and success factors in mobility management. At the same time, the project will generate data that can be analysed in the context of excellence-oriented fundamental research at ILS in the medium term.
