Resilient infrastructure in the Southern Upper Rhine region: A regional analysis
Client:Regionalverband Südlicher Oberrhein
Time frame:05/2026 – 01/2027

The ReVerSO project investigates the performance and accessibility of basic central-place service structures in the Southern Upper Rhine region. Its aim is to assess the spatial distribution of central-place functions and evaluate their contribution to resilient public service provision. To this end, the project combines data-driven spatial analyses, GIS-based accessibility analyses, and indicator-based assessments covering the sectors of education, healthcare, retail, public administration, and transport and mobility. Accessibility is analysed for private motorised transport, public transport, and cycling in order to identify spatial disparities in service provision and areas requiring action. The project provides an evidence-based foundation for evaluating central-place service structures and supports the further development of resilient and needs-oriented public services in the region.

This project is carried out by ILS Research gGmbH.
