PreWoK – Precarious housing and climate protection
| Client: | Ministry of Labor, Health, and Social Affairs of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia (MAGS NRW) |
| Time frame: | 08/2025 – 12/2025 |
The project aims to review the current state of the scientific and political debate on the social consequences of climate change. It focusses on people living in precarious housing situations. Precarious housing encompasses insecure and inadequate housing conditions mainly of people affected by poverty, as well as homelessness. In this context, we are examining selected social policy instruments aimed at improving precarious housing conditions for their potential climate policy implications. The aim is to analyse the mechanisms and levers of these instruments and to identify approaches for the federal state of North-Rhine Westphalia to link social and climate policy approaches.
