Urszula Hajdukiewicz does research on noise

Urszula Hajdukiewicz visiting the ILS from February 26 until July 31. During the stay, she is working on the research project “Urban Noise Pollution: Comparing Objective Noise Levels and Perceived Noise in Relation to Urban Health.”.

The project explores the relationship between objectively measured noise levels and perceived noise in urban environments. It combines theoretical research on noise pollution and mitigation strategies with empirical fieldwork in Warsaw, Poland. The field research examines how residents perceive noise and the urban soundscape.

By comparing objective measurements with subjective perceptions, the project aims to better understand their relationship and its implications for urban health. Urszula’s stay s is funded by the MOE Fellowship from the DBU Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt.
