On the way to the 15-minute city – ‘Share4Equity’ project meeting
How can we design cities in which journeys are short, mobility services are distributed fairly and cars are no longer the centre of attention? These questions were the focus of the first meeting with international partners of the research project ‘Share4Equity – Shared mobility services towards equitable and sustainable mobilities’ in Dortmund and Düsseldorf. Together with colleagues from Germany, Sweden, Italy, Poland, and Canada, we discussed ideas and approaches on how shared mobility services can contribute to the realisation of the 15-minute city and to greater transport equity.
The project, coordinated by the ILS, is funded as part of the DUT Call 2023 and is one of the 20 projects selected to drive forward a people-centred urban transformation. After exciting impulses about the construction of the mobility stations from project partner Connected Mobility Düsseldorf, we visited the mobility hub Bachplätzchen and discussed the transferability to other cities.
