Der Beitrag zeigt auf, dass die anhaltende Fl\u00e4cheninanspruchnahme in drei \u00fcberwiegend l\u00e4ndlichen Fallregionen in erster Linie auf Einfamilienhausgebiete zur\u00fcckzuf\u00fchren ist. Aus einer institutionalistischen Perspektive werden als zentrale Treiber eine pfadabh\u00e4ngige Kombination aus l\u00e4ndlichen Wohnidealen, kommunalpolitischen Zielen verbunden mit begrenzten Planungsressourcen kleinerer Gemeinden und den wirtschaftlichen Interessen von Bautr\u00e4gern herausgearbeitet.
